Another beautiful bespoke home office in Kent.
This summer we built and installed another beautiful home office in the rural area surrounding Ashford in Kent.
Our client’s home office is situated in a former out-building of a rural farmhouse near the village of Bethersden. Our brief was to design and produce a comfortable working space for our client, incorporating custom-made, dedicated file hanger storage within the drawer stack and open file storage on the wall above the desk. For the cabinetry, we used a combination of light oak veneered panels and spray finishing in a custom colour to harmonise with the oak and the existing wall colour. We flush-fitted an LED downlighting strip into the underside of the wall cabinet to provide additional light onto the desktop, controlled by a clever dimmer switch integrated into the cabinet itself and completely invisible.
Our client wanted one of the under-desk cabinets to be mobile, so it could be pulled out into the room when extra desk space was needed. The resulting wheeled trolley (to the left-hand side) houses the printer and provides additional storage within the cubbies. Cable management is neatly handled with a brushed, black aluminium edge strip located at the back of the desktop, and feeding into a specialised black metal cable channel running below the desk.
“Richard built and installed a desk, shelving and storage for my home office and a workbench with tool storage as well. Really high-quality work and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.”
